I was thinking (which could be considered dangerous at times) about the comparison of the Bible and a teddy bear.
My son has a teddy bear and is very attached to it like a lot kids are attached to blankets, toys, and any stuffed type creature.
The Teddy Bear
- My son is very glad to see his bear whenever he has been away from it.
- He likes to keep it near him for comfort when he is down.
- If he keeps carrying it around when he gets older he might kids might make fun of him.
The Bible
- Are we glad to read the Bible whenever we have been away from it?
- Do we keep the Bible close to us for comfort when we are down?
- Are we afraid that if we carry around our Bible that we will be ridiculed?
